A woman’s breast is made up of glands that produce breast milk. The breast consists of ducts like tubes that carrry milk to the nipple. Most breast cancers begin in the cells that line the ducts, some begin in the breast milk and the rest in other tissues. Breast cancer is one of the leading cause of death among women today. So what is breast cancer then and why is it so dangerous?
Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts from cells of the breast. A malignant tumor is a group of cancer cells that may invade surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body. Many doctors don’t fully understand how or why breast cancer forms. The key to prevent breast cancer is early detections. Here are some suggests that might lessen your risk:
- Exercise and stay fit. Maintain a good healthy body weight.
- Limit if not do not drink alcohol. If you must drink, try to limit to no more than one drink every other night.
- Opt to breast feed your baby instead of using formula.
- Eat a healthy balance diet that consists of fruits and vegetables.
- Get proper supplemental vitamin.

Early detecting breast cancer is one of the keys to a good recovery. Hopefully you will never experience breast cancer, but its vaitale to know that more and more people who have been diagnosis with breast cancer are living long and healthy following treatment. Please consult your physician and schedule yourself an annual mammogram. Most mammogram can be given during your regular phyiscal. While you wait for your annual mammogram, you can peform a self breast exams at least monthly. It’s a good pratice to conduct your self breast exam regularly and becoming familiar with how your breast feel will help make any changes more obvious should changes occur.
